Hotel Website Design in Editor X | Wix Fix
Have you ever thought about creating a website for a getaway business, hotel service, or Airbnb but felt overwhelmed with the idea of building it from scratch? Worry no more! We’ve got you covered with this Wix Fix – a step-by-step guide on how to design a hotel website using Editor X, a powerful website building platform.

Now, let's jump right into it.
Step 1: Set up the Hero Section
The "Hero Section" is the first thing that site visitors will see on your hotel website. It's essential to create an engaging hero section that showcases your hotel's unique selling points and encourages potential guests to explore further. To create a hero section in Editor X, follow these simple steps:
1. Set the height of the hero section: Click on the hero section and adjust its height in the properties panel to around 900 pixels. This height will provide enough room to display your content and create a visually appealing layout.
2. Add a container: Next, insert a container from the "Add Elements" menu and set its width to 80%. Make sure the container is centered, and set its height to 900 pixels as well. This container will help keep your content organized and properly aligned.
3. Apply a grid to the container: In order for your content to be displayed in a visually appealing manner, apply a 2x1 grid to the container. This will create a left and a right section, which will allow you to organize the elements of your hero section.
4. Remove the background color: To make your hero section more visually appealing, remove the container's background, so that your chosen image, video, or background color will be visible.
Step 2: Customize Your Hero Section
Now that your hero section is set up, it's time to make it stand out with engaging content and visuals. Here are some suggestions:
1. Display an eye-catching image or video: Choose a stunning photo or video that showcases your hotel's ambiance or key features. Another option is to use a slideshow of images or a looped video to show off even more of your hotel's charm.
2. Add a compelling headline: Craft a striking headline that grabs your site visitor's attention and conveys the essence of your hotel's experience. Use the 'Text' tool in the Add Elements menu to create your headline, then adjust its font, size, and color to match your site's design.
3. Include a call-to-action (CTA): Encourage potential guests to take action, such as booking a room or viewing available dates, by adding a CTA button to your hero section. Customize the CTA's design, size, and color to match the rest of your website.
Step 3: Integrate a Booking System
While Editor X doesn't currently support the Wix Hotel Reservation app, you can still use the Wix Booking app as an alternative for room reservations and hotel bookings. The two apps work similarly and offer comprehensive features for managing hotel bookings, including availability calendars, payment processing, and booking confirmation emails.
To add the Wix Booking app to your hotel website, follow these steps:
1. Go to the ‘Add Elements’ menu in Editor X, and search for ‘Wix Booking’.
2. Select the app and drag it onto your site where you want the booking feature to be visible.
3. Customize the design and settings of the Wix Booking app to fit your hotel's branding and booking requirements.
Wrapping Up
Congratulations! You've now completed the basics of designing a hotel website using Editor X. Remember, you can always add more creative features to your site, such as an image gallery, about us section, or testimonials from satisfied guests, to make your hotel website even more engaging.
